So I’m into unique activites. I used to play Korfball at University, and I help run a Disc Golf club and course here in Berkshire. It’s basically throwing ‘Frisbees’ at basket with chains and it’s a nice walk in the countryside.
My other hobbies are refurbishing/upcycling furniture and general woodworking and making things with wood.

My Work:
I am a Mechanical Engineer who helps people design buildings that are environmentally friendly, renewable and sustainable. I help people understand how much energy their building uses, even before they have built it by 3D building modelling – basically a technical version of Minecraft!

My main fucntion is helping lead my team of other engineers, to design building systems – like your heating, ventilation, air conditioning and hot & cold water, lighting, fire systems, power sockets – basically anything that makes a building liveable. As part of this we ensure that any changes we make to an existing building, or when we design a completely new building, does cause the environment any harm.
-
My Typical Day:
I spend a lot of my time either sat in the office with my work colleagues, in meetings with the people who pay me to design their buildings or onsite visiting buildings as they are gradually constructed (I’m one of the guys who walks aroung building sites with a bright yellow coat, shiny white hard hat and a roll of paper under my arm.
My favourite days are site visit days.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d like to start a Youtube channel explaining what the latest technology does, how to implement it into new buildings and how even as a young person – you can influence the Government, the Schools you attend, even your own house (tell your parents to turn their thermostat down 1-2 Degrees (you won’t notice really and it’ll help save the planet!)
