I don’t think that there is one solution. In general we need to use fewer materials and less energy to reduce pollution. And we need to clean up the pollution that we have already made.

I think that the UK will only do it if the government makes laws. Why should I as a company invest in expensive (but eco friendly) technology when the current machinery works well? I’ll only spend the money if I have to or if it become cheaper to be eco friendly than not eco friendly.

I think the best way would be to help the people who do not understand the Environmental Crisis and who it will affect the planet and our own lives, how important this is.
I think that the majority of people know that the environment and carbon footprint is important, and therefore live in a way that reduces their impact. However, if even 10-15% of people don’t also realise that they are causing our environment harm and live their lives producing high amounts of waste and have large carbon footprints, this would ruin all the hard work put in by the majority.
And when we can achieve it by? I’d hope as soon as possible, however in reality until everyone understands their impact on their surroundings, this will unfortunately take a long time.

i don’t think there is one fixes all solution it needs both technology and behavioural changes and all the countries of the world to be in agreement as there is only one world and we all live on it. but just the UK making changes as a very small country will neve have a worldwide impact unless all the other nations follow suit. The UK may be leading the way but it only counts if other nations follow swiftly afterwards otherwise its just creating hardships for the UK people that other people dont have and this is creating resentment

I thiink coming up with science and technology which improves the environment is the (relatively) easy part. The difficult part is changing people’s behaviours to use it, so the best way to improve the environment is to find a way to get people to change their behaviours to adopt science and technology that can make a difference

I would say there’s not one way, and it’s more about altering the habits and expectations of society. If more people are aware of the impact of certain decisions (what food at a given time of year, car vs train vs plane, etc), then we can start to shift to a more ecologically sound lifestyle.

There are some easier changes we can make to be more sustainable such as changing your diet and mode of travel which you can do. I think we can all play our part.

As many already said, there is no single solution. I think politicians (and by extension society in general, who should push for it) have a very important role in making sure as many countries as possible work together to tackle these problems. It is a global warming, so it requires a global solution!

I think the best way to improve our environment is to make it easier to get around without using fossil fuels. The UK has promised to achieve “net zero” by 2050, and carbon-neutral travel will be very important in achieving this. Things like electric cars, sustainable fuel for aeroplanes, and better access to public transport will help a lot.
