A whole small octopus, though I’m aware that “weird” is a relative term and there’s probably plenty that we eat in the UK that people in other parts of the world will find weird!

Jellyfish. Kind of rubbery and crunchy at the same time.

Kopi Luwak coffee. there is a type of cat in asia that likes eating coffee fruit (it is a cherry – the stone in the middle is what we roast to make coffee). It poos out the coffee bean, which is then collected, cleaned and roasted.
The coffee tasted really chocolatey, becuase whilst the coffee bean is in the cat’s stomach it slightly ferments.

Snails! They’re actually quite tasty cooked with olive oil and garlic.

Either that or giant ants from Colombia. They were a bit too weird for me!

Snails or whale, not sure which one is weirder… I come from Barcelona, so eating snails is not that weird there.

Fried Caterpillars in Zambia. in case you are wondering, they taste exactly how you would think they taste. Quite leafy! 🙂

Deep fried locust and crickets, in Cambodia. Like crisps, but with legs that get stuck between your teeth…! Tasty though! The curiosity that got me into science goes much further than just my research 🙂
