I really enjoy the teaching part of my jobs, practical lessons are particularly fun
I also enjoy the training I do with search dog teams because I’m a dog lover!
I don’t think it would be appropriate to say I find it fun working with human remains, but I find it very interesting and get a great deal of satisfaction out of case work.

This is perhaps one of the easiest questions to answer – yes! I’m glad I do enjoy my work because a PhD is a massive undertaking and requires years and years (in my case as a part-timer!) of studying, and what feels like years to write it all up!
I think I would enjoy almost any job in forensics though, they are all fascinating and all have a super important role in the criminal justice system and in society in general.
When I’ve finished studying I’d like to become a lecturer, so I can share my passion with the next generation. Hopefully, that might be all you guys taking part in this event?!

I love my job. There’s so much variety that you could never get bored and I enjoy virtually all of my work, from having scientific discussions with my research team to teaching undergrads to deriving equations and debugging code. A friend of mine likes to say that if you find a job that is also your hobby, then you’ll never have to work a day in your life. Now if only we could reduce the paperwork… π

I enjoy most aspects of my job especially the opportunity to meet very interesting people or travel to places I would not normally go to. I don’t enjoy so much, going into court to give evidence, but once it is done, I get a great sense of relief and feeling that I’ve helped the criminal justice system hopefully to come to a correct conclusion.

Yes, I enjoy my job. I love the variety it offers me, I can be teaching one day or analysing samples that havent been seen before. I enjoy looking at samples under the microscope and seeing detail that you cant see with the naked eye.

Itβs often hard to cope with the sad context of what we do, but always wort remembering it helps the victim, the family and friends of the victims. It is always worthwhile.

I really find my job interesting, and I do enjoy it.
The way I look at it, is if I win the lottery I would still want to be doing it, even if it was in my terms -
Kate Barnes answered on 11 Jan 2023:
I really enjoy my job and find a lot of elements of it fun. I love that I am rarely doing the same thing two days in a row and how much variety I get. One day I might be teaching all day but the next I could be out collecting information in the field or visiting different sites for training or consultancy work. I get to help solve real world problems plus inspire a new generation of forensic scientists!

I am not sure that ‘enjoy’ is the right word I would use for how I feel about my work. I find it challenging and I find it rewarding.

I second that.
