I think I always wanted to be a scientist. I was interested in the world and how things work from when I was very young, and I really enjoyed science lessons at school. Watching documentaries and visiting museums got me interested in geology and the study of planet Earth.

I’ve always been interested in science and sometimes without knowing it! I grew up watching David Attenborough documentaries and behind the scenes at the Natural History Museum. I was always outside identifying as many plants and insects as I could! When I learnt that this was what biology was all about nothing could stop me from doing a degree in it 🙂

I grew up just outside the Lake District and was always asking questions about how the mountains had formed and why the rocks I found were different colours. Doing a degree in Geology helped me answer these questions! I was also fascinated by animals.
I really enjoyed my science lessons at school, I had some amazing teachers.
