I’ve always loved cooking and baking, and as I learned more science at school, I began to understand better what was going on in my cooking and why some things tasted good, and others tasted bad, or why milk is good when something is very spicy. I thought that was so cool, and I loved that feeling of learning and understanding. That ability to understand and explain things that we see in our everyday lives on an atomic level is what really makes me love it! The fact that I can do something I love so much as a job is something I feel very lucky for.

I never thought I would become a scientist. I really enjoyed it at School and I naturally ended up studying further in Chemistry. I did enjoy art as well, so it was a little tricky to give up, but I can still be creative in my job.
