Mould (like my surname!!!) is made up of lots and lots of spores. These little spores sometimes get into our breathing pipe and go into our lungs. It can irritate our lungs and make us cough or become ill.

mould is fungus, or fungal spores (fungus’s version of seeds) and your immune system responds to it by trying to attack it when it lands in your lungs. This makes your airways constrict and can lead to asthma or make your asthma worse if you already have it
