I am a professor of astrophysics at the University of Nottingham. This means that I have many duties, but the one I like the most is research. I use the Hubble Space Telescope to study the early universe and the galaxies that existed back then. I also teach quite often and travel quite a bit. My work has taken me around the world, including many mountain tops for observational work with some of the worlds biggest telescopes.
My Typical Day:
I teach, advise students, read and write papers, have meetings about various things
My typical day is is to teach for a few hours, go to a few meetings either about science or about administration. I then try to find time to do some research such as reading papers, writing papers, doing research on my computer on data I’ve taken at various telescopes.
