• Question: How can you hold something which is thinner than a hair? Won't it fly off?

      So you have to be very careful is the short answer. We can move them sometimes, but sometimes we make them in the exact spot we need them (because moving them is hard- so we make stencils to make them). If we do need to move them we do so under vacuum- so there is no air around, and then we use static to pick them up on very tiny needles. Static is the same force what makes your hair stand up on end when you rub a balloon on it. You also need a very good microscope to look at what you are doing while you do this too otherwise you wont be able to see it.
