• Question: Can you figure out where your going by following the pole star?

      yes, but it works better if you also have a clock…

      people first started using the stars, or the moon, thousands of years ago, but apparently, even much more recently, they used to walk in a C shape every night, becuase the stars move relative to the earth (or rather, the earth turns, but it has the same effect)

      then when people started using a clock to navigate by the stars, they could say where the stars should be relative to what time it was. this was why the clockwork watch was so important… it allowed people to tell the time even on a ship.

      then the compass was invented and the rest is history

      Yes you can! I wouldn’t be able to, but I know people that definitely can! It would easier to have a sat nav but we can use the stars and the sky to help us.
