A man in the UK had a baby.. But he was born with a womb. Genetically he’s a man, because he has a male chromosome, (Y) but he was able to have a baby because he has a womb to grow one in.
The baby was delivered by caesarean, though the medics said that natural birth would have been possible.
Only 4 men in the world have given birth (on record).
The first was in USA. He was born a woman and had a gender reassignment. After living as a man for 10 years he had a baby because his wife could not. Awesome!
@569gdge33 I know-that is a pretty comprehensive answer @Jimi 🙂
I also find seahorses pretty interesting. Male seahorses incubate the eggs in their tummy and give birth to them once they are fully developed 🙂 you must look up the video!
Currently, men cannot give birth. They can only give birth if they were originally a woman at birth. So that means that they have undergone surgery to become a man, but have kept their womb. At the moment, you need a womb as a human, to give birth. Maybe one day, we will develop a method so men can give birth and share the pain with women! There are other animals, like male seahorses which give birth because the female puts her eggs into his pouch (like a kangaroo pouch for seahorses!) The male looks after them and keeps them safe until they hatch and he gives birth. It is all pretty fascinating stuff with science always developing. Who knows who could give birth in the future!
