There aren’t any apprenticeships for Forensics only University Degrees but if applicable there are policing apprenticeships

CSIs generally have degrees, although not necessarily in biology or chemistry. My first degree was in Criminology instead and my colleagues had degrees in archaeology, law and business! At present there are no CSI apprenticeships available.

The best way in is through university as a degree is needed for most forensic positions and your university will be able to offer you the chance to increase your employability whilst you are there, which increases your chance of getting a job at the end of your studies. This includes making good links for your future career whilst completing your degree. For example, we work very closely with our local Crime Scene Investigators and offer students the chance of work based learning in that area. You can also do a year’s placement between your second and third year which gives you real world experience. There are other networking events such as the employability conference we hold for our students each year. It will be similar at most universities. So it’s not just a degree you come out with but the tools to find a job in the area you wish to go into.
