On average we do between 30-50 cases per year. We could do more, but we are restricted by the small number of experts able to do our sort of work.

My focus is on core research so we don’t actually work regularly on real live cases. We’re aiming to bring the research to a point where we can start to use what we’ve learned and are still learning to help investigations.

I also don’t work on real cases, I’m researching methods of analysing cosmetic evidence that might come from real crime scenes in the future. Hopefully, I’ll work on lots of cases after I qualify, using the techniques I come up with!
