      I am a single human being (a tiny drop in a vast ocean) and I don’t believe that I can change the world as an individual. However, I do believe that I can influence the people around me. I can talk to them, I can teach them and I can inspire them. Those people may then go on to talk and inspire others, wherever they choose to live in the future. So, over time this project may become far reaching. I also believe that my idea is realistic with the amount of prize money on offer.

      When I began my studies in marine biology, I would volunteer my time for local marine wildlife charities. These places are where I began to gain experience of the world, leading me to where I am today. So I think that starting local can be very powerful in the long run.
