    I live in Shrewsbury with my boyfriend. Once a week I commute to North Wales, where I work at Bangor University. I stay with my family during the week whilst I work. I enjoy being outdoors and make sure I spend some time in nature every day. In Shrewsbury, I am a member of a yoga studio and enjoy challenging my mind and body in class regularly.

    This is me the day I handed in my PhD thesis!

    This is a map I made which shows where fishing activity occurs. Highest amount of fishing activity in red, with lowest amount in yellow. (Data by OSPAR)

    My work involves building an application (like the ones you have on your phone) or a website which allows fishermen and other interested people to check if a fishery is sustainable or not. This involves inputting ecological and fishery data into an equation, and making maps and tables with the answers. At the moment, I am using the same equation to help government decide whether Marine Protected Areas are healthy or not. This is quite a new and exciting field!
