to become a vet you would have to complete a university course such as veterinary medicine or veterinary nursing. both are different things. to get into these type of course normally you will need good grades in english maths and a science such as biology in scotland four higher grades at B or above will help. also if you can get some volunteering work where you work with animals such as at a zoo or vet this would greatly help your university application and give you an idea of what the job is really like.
as for a zookeeper im not sure if you need a degree or can get a job without one but check out the zoo website and the career section.
      i hope this is helpful

Below are some ideas, as I am neither of the above, but have worked with these professions before:

In school, you need to make sure that science, maths and English are good. Focusing on these subjects for your A-levels.

Then when you do your work experience placement, it would be a good idea to either have time at a veterinary surgery or a zoo or a nearby animal related place e.g. animal shelter or sanctuary.

Then at university, you could choose a degree related to veterinary science or zoology – depending on if you want to be a vet or a zoologist. You could even specialise further I believe, with some places offering ‘Marine Vertebrate Zoology’ for example, if you are interested in marine mammals.

As Scott says, it is always beneficial to do some voluntary work at some point for an animal or wildlife charity – to gain some experience and to give to a worthy cause.
