That’s an interesting question and quite a tricky one! It all depends on what you think will cause the world to end. One big problem at the minute is climate change because it affects plants, animals and people all over the world! Luckily, we have all the technology to stop climate change we just need to put it into action. One big change we could make is switching to renewable energy like solar panels instead of burning fossil fuels as they don’t release CO2 and never run out! If we manage to reverse the effects of climate change then I don’t think the world will be ending anytime soon 🙂

We know that in about 5 billion years or so the sun will start to run out of fuel. When this happens it will start to expand. It will get so big it will engulf Mercury, Venus and Earth.

Stars aren’t around forever. New stars are formed, they are around for billions of years, and then they explode! The sun is currently about half way through its life, so we have many billions of years until this happens!
