Gravity is an invisible force that pulls things towards each other. It is the force that pulls us down towards Earth and stops us from floating away and the force that keeps all of the planets orbiting around the sun.

Anything that has mass also has gravity. The more mass something has, the more gravity. If you were on a planet with less mass than Earth (like Mercury or Mars) you would weight less. If you were on a planet with more mass (like Jupiter or Saturn) you would weight more!

You might have seen videos of astronauts hopping around on the moon. That is because there is less gravity on the moon than on Earth, because the moon is smaller. The gravity on the moon is about 1/6th as powerful as the gravity on Earth!
