Great question! Yes I think climate change will affect all animals on Earth in some way, including us! Some animals are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change like polar bears. The Earth warming is causing ice to melt and sea levels to rise so there’s less habitat for polar bears. Some animals are more resilient. For example, cockroaches have survived every mass extinction event! This is because they can live in very hot dry environments and aren’t fussy about what to eat! It’s important we act now to stop climate change so we can save as many species as possible from extinction 🙂
Definitely! Lots of animals are at risk of going extinct because of the way climate change is altering the places they live. Scientists now believe we are living through a mass extinction event, where species are going extinct at a rate much faster than they have done for millions of years. The last mass extinction event happened 66 million years ago when most of the dinosaurs went extinct, so understanding what happened to the dinosaurs can help give us some ideas about what will happen to animals in the future.
