• Question: When did you realise you wanted to research about mental illness?

      when I was at university i really liked studying the brain. I then started a masters in neuroscience, but working with laboratory animals and basic science. Because i really wanted to help people it was important to me that my investigations had a close translational aspect, which means that if it works, within 5-10 years time we could potentially already see benefits to patients. So during my phd I changed to work with patients instead.
