Hormones control the pregnancy more than enzymes. In particular, estrogen, which is a sex hormone. Also, there is a hormone called oxytocin, which is responsible for labour, breastfeeding, and allowing a mother to bond with her baby.

To answer about enzymes, there are also enzymes in the placenta (the barrier between mother and baby) which can break down chemicals that are in the mother’s blood which would be harmful to the baby, to stop them getting into the baby’s bloodstream.
