Kristi Sawyer answered on 7 Nov 2017:

It has taken me a while to settle on this very specific area. I first studied Pharmacology/Biomedical Sciences at university from aged 19-22, which is very broad and teaches about diseases and the drugs used to treat them. From there, I realised I wanted to learn more about mental health and pregnancy. This is why I chose to do my PhD in pregnancy, and I started when I was 22 and will finish when I am 26. (I am 24 now)
