      Nice question. What is fascinating is that if you look at apes hearts they are actually larger than that of the human. However as a human we have evolved our muscle and bone structures to enable us to be more economical in our movement thus consuming less energy than the apes. So there are many differences between man and the apes, really as a result of the changing environment in which man is now exposed.
