• Question: If the cells of lungs where able to regenerate like the liver does, would us be able to take in breath for longer?

      This is of course hypothetical but none the less interesting. Given that we know the lungs do not respond to training, that is you can not increase the capacity of the lungs we perhaps have an insight into what could/might occur. I would suggest that the outcome would be not deeper breaths but breaths that require less Oxygen to be performed. So just like training which reduced the energy cost of breathing I would suggest that tis is what could happen.
