Hi Jess,
It can vary greatly especially as I have 2 jobs. I will give you an example of this week to demonstrate! Today I am at university and term is over so it is very quiet. I am answering questions to you and taking part in some live web chats, I am meeting a student later to talk through her research and meeting a colleague to discuss future research projects.
Tomorrow, I usually reserve the morning to catch up on reports and help junior colleagues with their work. In the afternoon I am delivering a group to learning disabled patients. On Wednesday morning, I am involved in a ‘ward round’ with my multidisciplinary team where we discuss the patients on the ward where I work and make decisions about their treatment with them. In the afternoon I have patient sessions. The rest of the work consists of patient sessions, assessments, leading ‘reflective practice’ for nurses on a different ward, a team meeting with the department and report writing. I also have a session with the patient band that I run, which is my favourite part of the week! Between all that there will be conversations with colleagues and patients on a more ad hoc basis, so you can see it is very varied.
So you can see it is very varied.
