Society Zone

What makes you behave in certain ways with your friends and other ways when on the bus with strangers? Do you always do what your classmates tell you? How do we learn what is and isn’t acceptable in our society? Do people make better choices in crowds or worse ones? These are just some of the areas that social psychologists study in their growing field of research.

There are 6 psychologists in the Society Zone ready to answer your questions. One can tell if you’re lying by looking at your pupils, another is studying why people believe in conspiracy theories. There is a psychologist trying to figure out how you can be happy when there is wrong in the world, while another is looking at how people became mentally unwell and what to do to help them. Also in this zone is a psychologist is interested in how different people view the world, and one looking at how we define and talk about alcohol problems.
