Oh wow, thats a good question.

Honestly, yes. There have been a couple of times Ive wondered whether I could deal with the pressure and stress that my job can sometimes cause. Some times of year can be so busy that I have very little time for anything but work, and I often feel really guilty if I take any time for myself instead of doing research and writing papers.

But I LOVE my job, and find it infinitely rewarding. I get to talk and teach about the things I love, discover new information and share it with other people, and get people excited about science. Most people will have times where they find their job really stressful, but having good friends and colleagues, and knowing that tough times will pass, really helps to keep you going.

Hi! 🙂 Yes, many times! I had a really tough time during my PhD because I did my PhD without funding and support of my parents. Moreover, I didn’t have actually a supervisor. So, it was a really hard time for me. But I ever had faith in me and I thought that it was only matter of time. These challenges questioned my choices many times. But the fact that I was happy when I was working and even if I didn’t see good results at that moment, I knew that greater compensations would have been arrived. The most important thing that I realized later it was that all the challenges I faced had a meaning. These challenges were there for me to help me to understand which my path was, and I discovered to have many resources, that you realize to have only when you have to face many problems. Anyway, I found my inspiration in my works and in my purpose. I always had very clear the purpose of my life.
      All the best,
      Maria
