Really good question! The answer is yes and no. Don’t you just hate yes and no answers!!

The night mode on your phone will help with your sleep as the blue light that comes from your phone, when it is normal mode, can stop you producing melatonin (the hormone that makes you sleepy). In night mode this blue light is extracted so can’t keep you awake.

However, part of the issue with phones, and other electrical stuff, at night is what we are using them for. We live in an age where we are waiting for an instant response to something we have posted or someone else has posted…instagram, snapchat, Facebook…

As such we can make ourselves less sleepy because all that waiting for a response can make us stressed, frustrated and alert.
