This is a great question! I think it will take a lot of cooperation between our leaders and leaders from other countries in order to have a consensus on what we should be doing. This can be from reducing our carbon footprint and using more renewable energy as fuel, limiting the amount of waste we send to landfill and recycling our consumables and reducing the amount of plastic we are producing.
Not only can we rely on our leaders, but we as individuals can be doing loads to help limit the impacts of climate change. Lobbying our local MPs and councillors is a good tactic. Write to them to tell them about issues you think could be changed such as your school or local shop reducing the amount of plastic it uses, organising beach cleans and telling them your concerns about global issues and that we should be doing something to combat it. The more we communicate, the greater our chances are of being heard.
That being said, we can make an impact in our daily lives. Take reusable and refillable containers with you when you go out and about, think about walking or taking the bus to places, limit the amount of new clothes and accessories you buy (try to upcycle your old items!) and think about reducing the amount of meat and dairy you consume… These are all smaller ways which we can reduce our contribution to the global crisis.

I completely agree with Rebecca. We are all aware that climate crisis is real and we also know that the solutions involve using renewable resources in a sustainable manner. But the only missing piece in this puzzle is our mutual cooperation. We all have this feeling of “hmm, why should I do it when that other guy isn’t?” and it is this herd mentality that absolutely needs to stop.
On top of it all, it is the responsibility of the world leaders to have a dialogue and enforce laws about this.

Fortunately climate change or better said the pollution causing the harmful changes become very fashionable these days. Unfortunately there is a lot of speaking about and less doing. I have seen people being very concerned by climate change, read get in all the pictures about, participate in all protests but drive a 4 by 4 to come at work, have few houses and fly few times a year on holiday abroad. Try not to fall for these things. Always think solutions are much simpler and we need to act but act personally and not wait someone else to do it for us.
When you go shopping think do I really need another t-shirt, do I really need to buy quinoa that came from south america, do I really need to have my apples wrapped in plastic? -

We should all try and be conscious of the decisions we make on a daily basis with regards to things like plastic, food waste, travel etc. BUT it’s really important that there are changes made in the bigger corporations who get away with so many irresponsible, polluting actions! To do this and to make big changes we need to (just as Rebecca said) lobby our MPs and make our voices heard! In science, we can continue to work towards creating more sustainable options for things we use in our daily lives like plastic! There is lots of amazing research being done into renewable fuels, plastic alternatives, air pollution monitoring, environmental protection and more!
