      Hi Barry,
An EPQ sounds like a great opportunity to explore a topic that interests you in depth, which could be very useful for finding out what you might like to study at university and beyond (if you plan to continue in education). You might even find a gap in the literature that could set you up for future research projects! Running a research project also involves lots of project management skills – such as time management, prioritising, asking relevant questions and exploring them – and these skills are very desirable to employers. In other words I think it would be a good thing for your CV, whether you decide to go further in Psychology or whether you try to do something else.

Hi Barry 🙂 I think from talking to some of the students yesterday that this is a research project that you are running yourself is that right?
I think it’s a fantastic idea! Although it can be a little daunting at first (I was always terrified when first asked to do things like that!), it’s a great experience – giving you skills that you can use at university and in future jobs. Being able to conduct and write up research is a very sought after skill, so it’ll look great on your CV, and will help future employers see that you’re able to do problem solving, critical thinking, project planning etc.
It is also really useful if you do plan to go on to study something similar at university as it will give you a head start. Some of my university students are really worried about running their own studies and wish that they’d had some experience at school so I definitely think it will help you in the future!
Good luck with it ! 🙂
