I never thought I was any good at maths – I always thought I was more of a ‘languages and arts’ person (it’s funny how people tend to think they are one or the other, which I don’t think is really true!) I did quite well at GCSE, though I didn’t study it after that. From what I understand, advanced maths can be really amazing. I do statistical analyses now, which involve a lot of numbers, though the computer does most of the maths for me! But I think having an understanding of mathematical formulae really helps with understanding data (and that helps with all sciences).

Hi Ryan! 🙂 I was never great at maths! I studied it to Higher level (which I think in England is the equivalent of A level…). I passed it but didn’t get a great grade, and never found it too easy. I was a bit worried about that because I knew that there was statistics in Psychology but it actually turned out I’m quite good at statistics! For whatever reason I just got it and I’ve ended up teaching statistics which I never thought I’d do! So although I still say I’m not too keen on maths, I seem to do ok at stats!
