Thanks for the question. My research focuses on social experiences and how they impact health and wellbeing. I have looked at topics like support for loneliness, health interventions, discrimination and marginalisation, identity transitions (e.g., gender identity, becoming a parent, leaving the armed forces etc) and at the benefits of social relationships with others and their psychological consequences. I have also studied topics like food poverty and migration. We work closely with local government, the health services, and charities and communities to share our findings and make sure they help increase knowledge and awareness. Our work can feed into decision making (around policy and investment in services) so it is incredibly important that we can communicate our findings and share knowledge well.
