      Hi,

Well as an early career researcher I haven’t had a great deal of my own work go out to the public. However I have had two publications, the first one was during my undergraduate project where I worked on making compounds with a diazo group (N2) in their structure, these are usually explosive because of how much these nitrogens like to break off to form nitrogen (N2) gas, but I was working on making them safely so that they can be used for making medical compounds.

The second publication I have is the most recent and is about my PhD work, where I managed to show that an electrode was able to quantify how many RNA molecules were in a urine sample. This is important because when someone has a disease the number of RNA in their urine (wee) goes up or down from normal. Therefore if I can quantify them quickly then I can tell if someone has a disease or not. Although this is still being worked on right now.

      Thanks for your question.

      Dan
