• Question: your topic really got me thinking! What a bizarre subject to study! What results do you usually get? Are they fairly similar?

The results can be wildly different from study top study or you can start to see trends between your studies – this information then allows us to start to design new materials or ask different questions using the techniques we use – we are at times just exploring possibilities (which can be endless)

A lot of my work involves finding loads of different interpretations and testing how well they actually work together to tell a story about the history of Earth. Quite often things don’t make sense at all, so that’s when the fun bit starts and I can start testing my own ideas using as much data as I can get my hands on. Like Craig said, most of the time it’s about exploring the different possibilities- except in my case I’m often exploring things that happened hundreds of millions of years ago, so it can be very difficult to be certain of the results!
