Well I don’t mind about being famous that much, but I would love to be a pop-scientist on TV! That would be great because I’d be able to teach science to millions of people at once! I think I could give Brian Cox a run for his money… plus I have better hair ;-P
I think I would rather be successful than famous.
I work in “pure science”, so usually we are not the type of scientist you hear about in the news. Being known in my field, though…that would be something else!
I suspect that I will never be “Niels Bohr” brand of famous (he is one of the main founders of the modern model of the atom and of quantum mechanics), but that’s all right!
I don’t want to be famous, but I want to be respected enough by my work colleagues that they will know me. So, rephrasing, I want to be famous in the academic/scientific world, but I think being general public famous (like Brian Cox, or Stephen Hawking) must be much more annoying than exciting. I really appreciate that they take that burden and spread science to the public though! 🙂
