If we don’t stop using fossil fuels very soon, I’m worried that the end of the world will happen from sudden climate change, maybe like in all those Holywood movies. But hopefully the people in charge will start listening to us scientists soon, and the world will carry on going until the Sun eventually dies, by which point I reckon we will have cracked interstellar travel. Fingers crossed!

Well, regardless of how stupid the human kind can manage to be, I don’t think we will be physically able to “end the world”.
Maybe we could seriously damage our own species and survivor, but after that give it a million year and we will be nothing again (just like we were nothing before).

We know for sure that the world will end in the serious “total apocalypse not going back” when the Sun will change stellar type, though!
At the moment, our star is a “average star”, fairly content to be it. At some point, though, the sequence of nuclear fusion happening inside it will require the Sun to switch to another stellar type, which is meant to be bigger and with a totally different energy production. This means that it will inflate into a “Giant Red Star”, and it will physically swallow Mercury, Venus and the Earth at least. No fixing it!
This moment is not supposed to happen before a good 5/6 billions of years…who knows if the humankind will still be there at that point!

Well, we know the Earth will end when the Sun becomes a giant red star, as Giuditta have well explained. Earth can recover after humanity is gone.

However, if by end of the world you mean end of humanity, I think at some point our species will manage to destroy itself either by means of war, climate change, or exhaustion of the resources which we need to survive (places to grow food, water which can be treated to drink). Most possibly a combination of all of above, unless every nation learns how to be nice to their neighbours, respect other people’s beliefs different from their own, help those with less conditions, and start caring about the planet they live on.
