We don’t really know — it was a real long time ago, and all we can tell about dinosaurs is from skeletons that we find. The oldest dinosaur we found so far has a weird name Nyasasaurus Parringtoni. It lived 243 million years ago!

I always find it mind-blowing that dinosaurs died away 65 million years ago. It means that there is 4 times less time between us and the last dinosaur than between them and the first dinosaurs! If we were a family, then us and the dinosaurs would be like 10 and 20 year old siblings, while the first dinosaurs would be our 60 year old grandparents 🙂

It is highly probable that skeletons of dinosaurs were at the origin of mythical beast like dragons, gryphons, unicorns, etc.
