Welcome to the Physics Zone!

The Physics Zone ran between 2nd November – 27th November 2020 as part of I’m a Scientist: On Demand.

Physicists try to understand the universe in which we live, from the tiny particles that make up matter, to the truly cosmic scale of stars and galaxies. Physics ideas can sometimes sound strange and farfetched, but physics has revolutionised the way we live our lives over the past few years. There’d be no computers as we know them without quantum mechanics, and astronomy has given us loads of inventions from digital cameras to WiFi.

The Physics Zone is funded by the Ogden Trust and the UKRI Science and Technologies Facilities Council.
