• Question: What happen if you go into to a black hole?

      No-one has ever done this, so no-one really knows for certain what happens in the middle of a black hole! However, as you fell toward a black hole, several strange things would happen. One is that the very strong gravitational fields would stretch you out until you were very long and thin, like a noodle. This has got the rather fun name of ‘spaghettification’, which I think shows that physicists have a sense of humour!

      You’d get stretched out and slow down a lot from the perspective of someone watching you fall into the black hole.
