Sure! Computer chips (which we sometimes call ‘Integrated circuits’) are made up of a type of material called a semiconductor. These materials can sometimes behave like a conductor (like metal) and sometimes like an insulator. Most computer chips are built on a silicon wafer. We deposit various materials (such as metals) on top of this to make electronic components. Computer chips these days can have billions of components!

Examples of three types of components that we use to make computer chips are: transistors, resistors, and capacitors.
