@485parf38, do what your heart says. Voting can be a sentimental excercise. However, you can do the right thing by voting the scientist that was the better communicator to you and conveyed a message. More important than voting should be your learning something new.

@485parf38 you can vote according to your heart desires! Just pick your criteria, decide who fits best, and cast your vote. No one will be disappointed if you don’t vote for the, we are not aspiring pop musicians, we care about research and how to communicate what we do to a general audience! Science is important, that’s what we care about!

I agree with Linda and Franco, it’s really fun to be able to communicate with people who are interested in parasites and you should vote for the person who you think explains parasitology well to you and gives answers that you find interesting. We’re all glad to be here; what’s not to love about talking all things parasites?!

      Hi 485parf38

Thanks for the great question. I wondered how best to answer. Should I be like a politician telling you simply that of course I am the best communicator and that you should not believe the others? Should I present evidence of my previous experiences of public engagement to convince you of my abilities, and thus win your vote on merit? I finally decided to say none of these things and instead thank you for voting – it is after all not the winning but the taking part that counts.

Ohhhh 485parf38! Because I made a nice rocky road cookie!(!?) Ehh please ignore that random reason… In all seriousness, you should vote for one (or can you vote for more than one?) that you think answer you clearly, spark your ideas, make you want to learn more, and, I would say, you like their idea for the prize money! Good luck!
