Parasites are living things that have evolved to live inside or on another type of organism. This relationship is non-mutual, meaning the parasites gets more from it than the host. Famous parasitic relationships include humans and head lice, rats being mind controlled by toxoplasma gondii and the youngest sibling in any family. Even T.Rex had parasities. Parasites also cause some of the worst diseases we know, such as malaria, so understanding them is really important.

There is a scientist in this zone who is researching why it is so difficult to get rid of tropical diseases, one who is finding ways to make malaria parasites less deadly and someone studying parasitic worms that can live for over 10 years in human blood! You will also meet a scientist researching allergies and infectious diseases, as well as a scientist investigating how parasitic infections affect cells in our immune systems.
