Hi Ruth, that would be an exciting question to have a concrete answer to, but I can’t say that I know for sure. There are a variety of theories for how the solar system was made, including the theory that the explosion of a nearby star led to gases and dust being compressed into planets, and these theories are being tested and investigated by physicists.
