I believe nuclear plays a big role in providing a reliable energy source whilst helping us get to net zero carbon emissions, and so I wanted to get involved!

I really enjoyed creating control systems while at university. When I went into work, I got to work creating them for the nuclear industry and loved the fact that even though some of the projects sound the same (putting waste into a box) how it is done is completely different because of differences in the waste or how it is extracted.

I decided to join the nuclear industry as a way of avoiding climate change, and as a career it’s quite well paid.

This video from a few years ago may help answer that question (please ignore my mad eyebrows I was a very excited young graduate then)

I always wanted to do a PhD, since I am the first of my family to study and I wanted to go full in, so I was looking for announcements and found my PhD there.
