      The first car ever made didn’t have a name, but it was made in 1769, over 250 year ago! Instead of a petrol engine like today’s cars, this car was steam-powered like an old train. It took another 100 years for the first petrol-powered car to be built. These cars didn’t look much like the cars you see on the roads now. I wonder – if you saw one of those old cars today, would you be able to recognise what it was?
