I was 18 when I started applying to universities. I think I may have thought about being a scientist before than but that was when I first started thinking seriously about it.

I first decided to become a scientist when I was four years old. But, just like everyone, I changed my mind lots of times before I made my final decision! I wanted to be a geneticist (DNA scientist), then a palaeontologist (dinosaur scientist), then a dentist, then a pilot, then a writer… and, finally, I studied molecular biology and became a scientist who studied cells and DNA. Now I’m a writer after all – a writer who writes about science!
