For most people, coronavirus doesn’t need treatment. It’s similar to a cold or flu, so the best thing you can do for it is get plenty of rest, drink a lot of water, and stay away from other people until it passes.
When people do need treatment, it is usually to keep them healthy while their immune system fights the virus. This means they might get things like painkillers, cough syrup, or even IV fluids (which means fluids directly into their blood if they can’t drink enough water on their own). That way, we can keep coronavirus patients strong and comfortable so that their bodies can fight off the virus.

Everything that Mick has said is true. I may just add that there are already some exciting new clinical trials happening around the world which explore possible treatments for coronavirus. Some scientists and doctors hope that they can use drugs developed to treat other viruses like Ebola or HIV to treat coronavirus and they have had some promising results. Of course, it is too early to say anything for sure but it is possible that we may be able to find a treatment that can help those who are affected most seriously by the virus.
