Yo Yehudi answered on 4 Nov 2017:

Yo is short for Yochannah, where the “ch” part is pronounced a bit like the ch in loch. It’s a Hebrew name, but it’s not very common in Israel (where Hebrew is spoken) either. The english translation of Yochannah is Joanna. It means, roughly, “favoured by god”.

My surname, Yehudi, wasn’t the name I had when I was born. I was actually born Yohannah Mcfarlane, but when my family moved to Israel, we changed our names to more Hebrew sounding names to fit in. Due to the way Hebrew letters work, when Israelis try to say McFarlane they always mispronounced it as “Macparlann” which really didn’t appeal to us!
