        Scientists can have lots of different jobs. Some scientists work in labs, while some work in offices. My current role as a researcher involves mainly working in a lab. I work with flammable gases and occasionally spanners, wrenches and sophisticated instruments. I have to ensure I work safely as an accident could be dangerous. Many of the tasks I do in the lab can be repetitive but it can be exciting when I solve a problem or make a breakthrough.
        My current role also involves a lot of reading and writing. I attend presentations of the research being done by other scientists in my area and sometimes present my work as well. There are also opportunities to attend presentations and collaborate with scientists in different countries.

      When you start looking into different science jobs you realise how many different science jobs there are. What I enjoy about being a scientist is that I keep learning new things and realise how much more there is to learn. I work with a great team and we have good fun together too. I work with computers, analysing data etc at the same time I still get to go into the lab and try new things. Its a good balance and I never get bored 🙂
