• Question: If taking chemistry at A-level what would you say is the recommended grade needed at GCSE

      From my personal experience I found the jump from GCSE to A level challenging but then A-level to first year of a degree a little easier. I’d say there’s no minimum grade you need as long as you have a genuine interest for the subject and are willing to put the effort in, you will succeed!

      II don’t know the English system as I went through the Scottish system. Our equivalent of the GCSE were the O grades and usually only those people who got at least a C or D pass in O grade were suggested to go on to higher in that subject.

      Your school or college may have it own rules so it worth checking them, but generally a good pass (C or above for GCSE in the system I went through, but I know grading system is now very different) is needed to take a subject to a higher level.
